OOPS! We Forgot to Renew Our NFA Membership!

To date, only ninety firms have remembered to send their NFA Dues payments in. We know it is confusing since NFA’s fiscal year begins in October, but your year probably begins this month. If you haven’t seen your Annual Membership plaque yet, odds are we haven’t received your renewal. Remember: Only NFA Members get the discounts at workshops. With all of these great workshops coming up, don’t delay! Get your payment in today and begin saving!!

Did You Know Valentines Day 2004 is a Saturday ?

Plan ahead!

  • Design your prime arrangements

  • Order in advance

  • Coordinate wholesale deliveries and your delivery driver schedules

  • Schedule temp workers if you need them

Not Enough Time, You Say?
Organizational Hint of the Month

What do you do when the mail arrives? An employee hands you a message? Or you look through your In box? If you answer is anything besides “Deal with it” you are causing yourself more work! The number one rule of thumb to save time and become more organized is “Touch it once.” Each time you review a letter, an order, a message, or a project without completing it you are costing yourself time and focus.

SO: Turn over a new leaf this year! Don’t just go through things: take one thing at a time and finish it before you even LOOK at the next!

Speaking Of Deliveries . . .
Is the Price of Gasoline Getting You Down?

Do you think a gallon of gas is expensive? Tired of throwing your money away at the gas pump? Maybe it will help if we try to put things in a bit better perspective for you!

Here are the prices per gallon on some of our favorite items:

  • Diet Snapple     $10.32
  • Ocean Spray    $10.00
  • Gatorade          $10.17
  • Lipton Iced Tea $9.52
  • Brake Fluid       $33.60
  • WhiteOut         $25.42
  • Scope Mouthwash $84.48
  • Pepto Bismol    $123.20
  • Vick’s Nyquil    $178.13

What Can You Do With Petals?

Is your bottom line looking a bit red? How about making a profit on things you usually throw away? A good example is loose petals ! Petals can be marketed to your customers for many uses.

Here are just a few:

  • Frozen in water to use in a punch bowl

  • Tossed into a bed

  • Hidden in a car (save money on costly auto deodorizers)

  • Dried and placed in a pot potpourri bowl

  • Made into a candle

  • Decorating a dessert (how about an Easter Bonnet Cake? Call the NFA office for the plan!)

  • Use for beautiful, biodegradable packing material instead of Styrofoam peanuts

  • Floating in a bath

  • Include inside a letter

  • In a salad (selected)

  • Worn in the hair (extra great for wedding parties)

  • Use when making a bar of soap

Quote of the Month

“It is wise to keep in mind that neither success nor failure is ever final.”
